Wensleydale Locks on The Decoy Bride
Wensleydale Locks on The Decoy Bride

In the midst of watching an amusing little film entitled The Decoy Bride (highly recommended if you enjoy quirky, witty humour), there suddenly appeared the most whimsical, fluffy, amusing, retro, wool and leather vest. I heard mention of “Wensleydale” and my Google search returned some satisfying results.

I have now got a mission to source me out some of this Wensleydale locks type wool and make myself something quite ostentatious with it. So, I need to find a supplier, decide what form I like it best in (I’m thinking raw – with the curls. Isn’t it fantastic? And to get it in some dyed colour… but which? Black?).

Anyway, I’m looking forward to some supremely over-the-top fashion from this little find. Inspiration/possible projects – not a whole lot has been done with these on Ravelry, strangely:

In fact, not much done with them at all… the benefit of picking up something that went out of style 30-40 years ago and has yet to be recycled by The Fashion Industry. Awesome. This is my fashion challenge for 2013!
